“The Bathers” is a new work by Clement Joe Simonnet. Impressive by the medium on which it is painted, a large, four panel hangable screen, this work was inspired by the colours and ocean shimmers of Saint Jean de Luz in southern France. Outbursts of colour criss-cross each other on this majestic work, mirroring the wake of the ocean. One can, with a bit of imagination, make out the graceful figures of the bathers’ bodies, swaying in the waters.
Oil series was painted in Paris during Simonnet’s calvery that lasted 10 years with an addiction to medication and other drugs which left the ordience questioning if Simonnet would ever make a clean come back to the scene.
It is only recently after a harsh rehabilitation plan that Simonnet is planing this 2025 a world come through his tour with The Holy Art Gallery based in London with shows in Paris LDN Tokyo Athens Amsterdam and menu more destination throughout 2025 and 2026.
